Flash

December 9th, 2006

Was at a great conference in Brighton earlier in the week, Flash on the Beach. Great group of speakers covering a whole range of Flash and web design related topics. The organiser done a great job and Brighton proved to be a great venue (despite the storm force winds blowing on the seafront).

Some of the best sessions were

  • Aral Balkan discussing software development process and the use of Agile methodologies like eXtreme programming.
  • Mike Chambers from Adobe showcasing the new Apollo project they’re developing. This looks really promising
  • Richard Legget showing the power of Flash Lite 2 for mobile devices.
  • and Jeremy Keith discussing the pros and cons of Ajax v Flash for web development.

Didn’t notice any other Irish developers over there. Doesn’t seem to be many serious Irish developers in the Flash/Flex community.

Aw, man: I didn’t realise there was a fellow countryman at the conference.

    Next time, say something. ;-)
